ABOUT US

Swimming lessons for Children and Adults in Northampton. Our goal is that every swimmer receives the understanding and awareness of swimming with confidence and well as enjoying the swimming experience in a happy and relaxed atmosphere. Ensuring safety is 321 Splash Swimming Schools number one priority.

OUR CLASSES

GROUP
LESSONS
AGES 4 and Older 

STAGE 1

Reasonably Confident independent swimmer

·I can answer 2 water safety questions.

​

·Breath control and submersion development

​

·I can keep my eyes down whilst blowing bubble for 3-5 sec moving through the water

 

·I can enter & exit the pool safely unassisted.

​

·I can perform a treading water action with legs using a wiggle (sea horse) or floats.

​

·Teaching kicking techniques and self-propulsion through the water with eyes down

​

·Developing mobility and buoyancy skills through independent kicking, paddling and floating

STAGE 2

Confident independent swimmer

·I can keep my eyes down whilst blowing bubbles for a minimum of 5 seconds whilst moving through the water

​

·I have a strong kick which can propel me through the water

​

·I can competently produce freestyle arms through the water

​

·I am capable of swimming basic freestyle for 7 metres independently

​

· I can Star float on my back with little support comfortably for a minimum of 5 seconds

​

·I can comfortably kick on my back with a kick-board

STAGE 3

Confident independent swimmer

·I can produce unassisted basic freestyle arms

​

·I can produce backstroke kicking unassisted

​

· I can attempt breaststroke- may use a wiggle for support.

​

·I can swim to a teacher easily propelling themselves through the water

​

· I can swim forward for  2 metres and then roll back, swim on the back for 2 metres and roll into a standing position (regaining feet).

​

· I can perform a horizontal float on the back and hold for 5 seconds, roll on to front, hold for 5 seconds, roll to the original back and hold for 5 seconds.

STAGE 4

Very confident independent swimmer

·I can enter the water with a step or jump entry, tread water for 5 seconds, and swim to poolside.

​

· I can push and glide, holding the streamlined position.

​

· I can push and glide, or swim to the bottom of the pool, to retrieve an object.

​

· I can scull head first for 2 metres.

​

·I can produce unassisted bilateral breathing.

​

·I can swim a recognisable backstroke for 5 metres.

​

·I am capable of swimming 15 metres unassisted

STAGE 5

Very confident independent swimmer

· I can swim 5 metres on front, roll over and swim 5 metres on my back.

​

·I can scull feet first using a wiggle for support. 

​

· I can perform 2 different types of entries and tread water for 15 seconds each time; performed in shoulder deep water.

​

· I am able to swim. 15metres of back crawl.

​

·I can perform a handstand with both hands on the pool floor; performed in chest deep water. 

​

· I am able to submerge, push and glide on the side, and roll to a face down position
